For an explanation of the comic, please read below...if you don't care, well thanks for stopping by anyways. ^_~

So, for those of you who frequent your local comic shoppe on a fairly regular basis you may be aware that Marvel's "Big Event" for the year just ended with...well, let's not be too mean, but it did end pretty patheitically. Granted there could be worse endings, but not many.

After discussing the "Finale" with some other of my comic enthusiast friends, I began to realize that there are actually several different reactions that people can take on this subject: thusly I decided to document them in a special comic of my own. I mean how often do you read comic's talking about other comics....wait don't anser that.

So for those of you who don't get the inside jokes I've put here, I'll try to explain them, as well as explain the types of reacrtions represented by each character:

Achiro, "The Quitter": Yeah, I realize that I kinda took a bit of a cheap shot to the whole American Vs. Japanese comics deal, but I actually think there are quite a few people who get a bad taste in their mouth after something like this, and they decide to "give up" on the storyline. Usually this type of reader didn't have much invested in the story in the first place, so they're really not giving up much. That and Manga never has crummy storylines. <ahem!><cough!> Never. :p

Mika, "The Empathizer": Mika represents the kind of reader who tries to reason with the characters...as if they might actually listen. These are the same people who shout in the middle of a movie, "Don't do it!" or "He's right behind you, idiot!" like they can actually change the characters actions by giving them hints. And I don't mean to demean this type of reader too much...their ability to empathize with various characters shows how much they've let themselves become immersed in the story...even at the cost of their own perception of reality. ;) And on a final note, Reed Richards really is an Asshat. Iron Man may be a raging alcoholic, Cap'n America may suffer from Macho Man complex, but you really have to wonder at a guy who's married to a smoking hot wife, yet spends all his time in a lab playing with his science toys. No wonder she kept paying so many visits to Namor on the side... :D

Tommy, "The Optimist": Maybe optimist isn't the right word for this category, but "Forward Thinker" just didn't seem right either. But basically it's the person that thinks: "Hmmm...well that sucked...let's see what they do with it." I think this is the most healthy response of the ones I've represented, and I'm slowly convincing myself to take this position. After all, who doesn't want to see the Hulk use Tony Stark and the rest of the Illuminati as squeeze toys? I know I can't wait! ^.^

BM, "The Rationalizer": See also: "Conspiracy-Theorist". Come on. Everyone knows this type of reader. The one who claims to have it all figured out. The one who claims to have single handedly divined the secrets that only the writers are supposed to know. Call 'em what you like, but man, some of their theories are really fun to read. That and the idea that Iron man is being manipulated (again) by a shapeshifter with some subtle thought control powers is awfully amusing. But eh, like Tommy says, we'll just have to wait and see.

From an artistic standpoint, BM's expression was my favorite to draw. It's not very often I draw something that has ME cracking up nonstop for five minutes. I guess it's just that "I can see FOREVER!!!" look...it's just so freakin' goofy... ah well, where was I?

and finally...

Leine, "The One Who Strikes Back!": Okay maybe I'm stretching a bit, but tell me at least one other person saw the end of civil war and thought this? Maybe you know the other storyline I'm refering to? It comes from the Ultimate Avengers actually...the scene is of a fight between Cap'n America and some Skrull...the Skrull demands that Cap'n surrender...which really cheeses off the Cap'n! "Surrender?" Cap'n askes while smacking the Skrull with his shield, "SURRENDER!?! YOU THINK THIS LETTER ON MY HEAD STANDS FOR FRANCE!?!" Commence more Shield-Bash-Fu, etc. etc.

So you can see the irony...in Ol' Captain America surrendering because he and his buddies have caused a little collateral damage. Huh? Excuse me? Isn't that what happens when Superheroes do their thing? Does no one remember a few comics ago when Iron Man and his buds smashed up a good section of New York defeating some random giant robot? Where was "Team 9/11" then, huh? So he gave up because they weren't fighting for the people anymore? Duh! Of course you're not fighting for the people! You never were! You're fighting so you aren't forced to be drafted into the governments Superhero Army program! Remember that thing, Freedom?

Anyway, that's enough outta me...or I really could go on forever...

If you're interested here's a link to a parody of the last Civil War comic...strangely the parody almost makes more sense than the real deal! O.o

And that's all for now. Thanks for reading this far! ^_^ Enjoy!

I'll be looking forward to whenever you continue this series, it's good stuff. The comic where Alpha Centauri was mentioned is what really sold it for me, when I read it I was like "This comic is now awesome."
